Heavy sedation.

Apparently the latest issue of Rolling Stone includes either a written piece by or an interview with Bruce Springsteen, in which Bruce remembers Clarence Clemons, which is historically interesting in that Springsteen has never ever told any kind of stories before (and certainly never on stage in front of a sellout crowd) about how he met Clarence or how much Clarence meant to his music.

This may be a truly assholic thing to say (I’m sure the interwebs will let me know soon enough) …

… but I would have bought Springsteen every beer in the state of New Jersey, and given him mad respect besides, if he’d begun the conversation by saying with a completely straight face:

“You know, six months from now, I can’t see myself missing Clarence more than I might miss Ross McLochness, or Ronnie Pudding, or Danny Upham.”
